In 1952 in a County Cavan village, teenager Eamon Doyle is awaiting the results of the Leaving Certificate, and lives with his widowed father, John. A neighbour, Luke Moran, son of Ben has been killed in Korea having enlisted in the American army following his migration to the USA. John is an old enemy of Ben’s as they fought on opposite sides during the civil war, and he tries to dissuade his son from having a relationship with Ben’s daughter Una. Korea is a powerful story of the relationship between father and son
