Irish Film Institute -JDIFF: THE TINGLER

JDIFF: THE TINGLER

Director: WILLIAM CASTLE

82 minutes| U.S.A.|1958| Black and White

The Tingler follows a pathologist (Vincent Price) as he discovers that the victims of a series of mysterious
deaths have a large insect-like creature growing on their spines. The creature attacks when the people are frightened and is only killed when the host emits a blood-curdling primal scream. Along the way, a few characters are injected with LSD and begin hallucinating like mad. As the nasty monsters ‘escape’ into the movie theatre and the screening becomes interactive, the film’s audience wonder if they’re going mad too!

Bruce Goldstein will host this interactive screening.
