IRELAND ON SUNDAY: CITY WILD

Director: Leticia Agudo & Paul McGrath

82 minutes, Ireland, 2013, Digi-beta

Ireland on Sunday is our monthly showcase for new Irish film.

Directors Leticia Agudo and Paul McGrath will participate in a post-screening Q&A.

City Wild is a revelatory new documentary about one of Dublin’s greatest assets – The Phoenix Park. The Park of which Dubliners are so proud is the largest walled park in Europe: bigger than all of London’s city parks together and more than twice the size of New York’s Central Park: 707 hectares of vibrant plant and animal life in the middle of our busy capital. Surprisingly, the park is also home to some 40 families, many acting and retired park staff, who live within its grounds. Some have grown up there, found love, raised families, and would even like to be buried within its walls. Here they tell their stories.
