IRELAND ON SUNDAY: 140 CHARACTERS & THE 80s

Director: Tom Burke and Shane Hogan

Ireland on Sunday is our monthly showcase for new Irish film.

We’re delighted to present a programme of work from Areaman Productions, creative documentarians of contemporary Dublin life whose The Liberties series was the surprise sell-out success of IFI Stranger than Fiction 2009.

140 CHARACTERS
Shot over the course of one week in Dublin City, 140 Characters captures
real people talking about their lives. The film features children, teachers, singers, travellers, nuns, fathers, mothers, dancers, hipsters, grandparents, dreamers, believers, cleaners, creative people and people who are creative with the truth. All answer a question which reveals something about their lives and ours.

THE 8Os
A brand new work in which 80 80-year-olds speak about the 80s!

The filmmakers Tom Burke and Shane Hogan will participate in a post-screening Q&A.
