IFI IRISH FILM ARCHIVE PRESERVATION FUND LAUNCH

The IFI Irish Film Archive is custodian of one of Ireland’s most remarkable resources – our nation’s film. The work of our archivists in preserving and making accessible this collection is moving into a new and exciting phase with the need for the development of an IFI Irish Film Archive Preservation and Research Centre, and we are launching a major fundraising campaign to help us achieve this.

The films preserved by the Archive present a vivid and unparalleled portrait of the development of modern Ireland, as seen through the cameras of both amateur and professional filmmakers, and stories from everyday life are preserved alongside the great achievements of Ireland’s filmmakers. Collectively this material tells the story of Ireland’s cultural, social and political journey throughout the last century as well as providing a record of Irish film culture.

Join us and some very special guests from the world of Irish film at this event to celebrate the work of the IFI Irish Film Archive and launch the IFI Irish Film Archive Preservation Fund.
