In partnership with the Irish Museum of Modern Art on the occasion of new exhibition Cloud Illusions I Recall, which explores the relationship between art and cinema, the IFI is pleased to present two films by the great Chris Marker, chosen by artist and exhibit co-curator Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster.

On Saturday, June 22nd, a screening of La Jetée, Marker’s meditation on memory and desire, will be followed by a panel discussion entitled Art and Film – The Magnificent Obsession. The panel will include Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and fellow co-curator Rachael Thomas, Head of Exhibitions at IMMA. 

On Sunday, June 23rd, there will be a screening of Sans Soleil, Marker’s experimental film-essay, which incorporates elements of travelogue and documentary to again deal with memory and its effect on one’s perception of the world.
