IFI FAMILY: McDULL KING FU DING DING DONG

Director: Brian Tse

80 minutes| Japan/China/Hong Kong| 2009

As part of our Hong Kong Film Panorama season, we are delighted to bring IFI Family audiences a taste of a hugely popular Chinese animation character, Piggy McDull. McDull isn’t having much luck in school or outside, and his mother has tried very hard to give him opportunities. However, she hasn’t had much success on this score either. When she goes to the mainland to study business, she enrols him into a Wudang kindergarten, where he will learn the finest, ancient martial arts. But even under the tutelage of Master, a former opponent of Pruce Lee (!), McDull proves a challenge for the 1,000-year-old school. Yet, despite his inexperience, he ends up taking part in the school tournament with hilarious results.
