IFI FAMILY: HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (3D)

Director: Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders

98 minutes| U.S.A.| 2010| Animation/Adventure/Comedy

April sees the arrival of 3D at the IFI and this big 3D adventure, based on the book by Cressida Cowell, features a hero, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, a young and brave Viking who lives in a mountainside village near some very unfriendly dragons. Breathing fire and thrashing their tails, the dragons are a huge threat and the villagers have been trying to control them for years.

When the dragon master, Cobber, gets to work, Hiccup is told to stay inside but he ignores this and attacks the dragons himself. When he follows one into the forest, he finds a little wounded dragon, Toothless, whom he befriends. They both set out to convince the villagers that there are good dragons too and they can help them win the battle with the bad ones.

There are some great action sequences (but a few scary scenes) as the dragons rage over the village in the final battle between good and evil.

Tickets €5, family of 4 €15. Age recommended: 7+
