This year, Horrorthon is excited to present a dedicated programme of new short shock cinema from across the globe, with a strong Irish showing from a new wave of home-grown horror talent. The centrepiece of the shorts programme is promising young Donegal filmmaker Gerard Lough’s sylish adaptation of Stephen King’s short story The Boogeyman, alongside a quartet of new Irish shorts: In the Night, In The Dark, At Night, Callback and Wheels Of Death. Elsewhere you’ll find demented (and delightful) Canadian rock’n’roll splatter comedy The Legend of Beaver Dam and Angel Tirado’s stylish Spanish entry Deriva (Adrift). Enjoy – and, if you don’t like them, quit moaning and make one of your own! We’ll screen it next year…
