This is award-winning director Laurent Cantet’s first English language film, adapted from the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Foxfire: Confessions of a Girl Gang. Set in upstate New York, 1953, a group of teenage girls band together to rebel against the machismo of the time. The success of initial, minor acts of rebellion gain momentum taking the girls on a journey which races out of control. Idealism and youthful energy combine in a heady mix that descends into crime and violence.

Anna Carey, journalist and author of the award-winning Rebecca series will introduce the film.
