Oliver Parker (St Trinians, The Importance of Being Earnest) directs a ravishing cast in a new adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s masterpiece. Dorian Gray, played by Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian) is an enigmatically beautiful young orphan who returns to London and is quickly sucked up into a maelstrom of hedonistic delight and debauchery, guided by the devilishly charismatic Lord Wotton (Colin Firth). Henry’s friend, artist Basil Hallward (Ben Chaplin), becomes deeply infatuated with Dorian and paints an almost unnaturally life-like portrait of him. As the picture is unveiled, Dorian pledges that he would give anything to remain as his image is in the picture – even his soul.
