Italian director Lucio Fulci is best know for gory zombie movies, but this 1972 thriller is regarded by many as his finest work. The film paints a very unflattering portrait of small-town Sicily as a reporter and a promiscuous woman investigate a series of child murders and discover a community rife with perversion, ignorance and madness.
