This faithful adaptation of Katharine Paterson’s best-selling novel comes from the producers of The Chronicles of Narnia. Jess – the fastest kid in the school – and newcomer Leslie form an unlikely friendship and create a secret place of their own to which they can escape. Both are outsiders, and they learn from one another how to ignore the world around them. The ensuing tragedy is both moving and sensitively handled, and Jess is obliged to grow up quickly as he tries to come to terms with this lifechanging event.
