Blue Week

This Bergmanesque story of summer love reveals the talent of Matti Kassila at its absolute peak. A young man goes out to an offshore island for a weekend’s relaxation and meets an attractive woman and her middle-aged husband. A brief affair ensues, but with unexpected consequences. The sensual, tactile quality of sand and sea during the Nordic summer has rarely been so well caught.
