THE NEW MATCHMAKERS
This film, made by the Radharc team, shows the efforts of rural priests to increase marriage rates through the establishment of dating agencies – the Knock Marriage Bureau in Mayo and the A.B.C. (Anonymous Bachelor’s Club) in Limerick – which provide a ‘necessary service’ in the life of Ireland. Best dating preparation and conduct is taught at an etiquette class for young farmers at Glenamaddy.
