ARCHIVE AT LUNCHTIME: NUALA NI DHOMHNAILL: TAIBHSÍ I MBÉAL NA GAOITHE (FREE EVENT – APRIL 2014)

Join us for FREE lunchtime screenings of films from the IFI Irish Film Archive.

This year’s One City One Book choice – If Ever You Go: A Map of Dublin in Poetry and Song inspires a richly varied programme of films about Dublin poets and poetry in our two strands, Archive at Lunchtime and From the Vaults.

April’s Archive at Lunchtime weekend slot will present longer documentary profiles.

Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill: Taibhsí I mBéal na Gaoithe

One of the most celebrated contemporary Irish poets lays her extraordinary life bare in memorable fashion as captured by Pat Collins who has the very good sense to anchor his superb film around Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill’s  formidable skills as a natural born storyteller. The great passions of Ni Dhomhnaill’s  life are explored in depth; the Irish language, the written word and the Turkish husband who changed her life forever.

FILM INFO: (52 minutes, 2006, Director: Pat Collins)
