Irish Film Institute -AN AFTERNOON WITH JON RONSON

AN AFTERNOON WITH JON RONSON

LAST FEBRUARY JON RONSON HELD COURT TO A FULL HOUSE IN THE IFI TO GET A FEW THINGS OFF HIS CHEST. BARELY A YEAR HAS GONE BY AND HE IS BACK WITH A SUITCASE OF OPINIONS, SOME CONTROVERSIAL FILM WORK AND A NEW BOOK.
Jon’s previous books, Them: Adventures with Extremists, The Men Who Stare At Goats and Out of the Ordinary, are all preoccupied with lunacy on a local and global scale. In the past year he has continued to unearth the bizarre, working amongst other things on a new film about George Exoo, and writing feverishly in The Guardian about all that is odd with society. In what Mr. Ronson promises is a brand new lecture, he will be showing exclusive clips from one or two of his current secret film projects, giving readings from his latest Guardian columns (now collected in his latest book What I Do), and talking to the audience about his decline into a state of headclutching disbelief. The audience will, of course, have an opportunity to set him straight.
