A City Dreaming

Director: Mark McCauley

A portrait of Derry-Londonderry. A series of personal and intimate recollections of a city and its people. A story that weaves its way through half a century of history during a time that saw the city rise from poverty and neglect, to hitting the headlines across the world.

Using unseen archive and home video footage, this is an homage to the ordinary people, a personal memoir, told through the eyes of the young boy (Gerry Anderson), born in the 1940s, who witnessed firstly the warmth of his family and community and then the tumultuous events that saw the city and its people almost destroyed.

In association with Northern Ireland Screen and The British Film Institute.
