Family get-togethers, with their squabbling siblings, revelations and intrigue, have provided many a film plot. This comedy drama starring Jane Fonda is no exception, focusing on a family who reluctantly convene to sit Shiva, following the death of their father. Comic actors Tina Fey and Jason Bateman revel in their roles as sister and brother, while Jane Fonda as the matriarch brings comic timing to her disappointment at how life has turned out. It’s a messy week, reflecting untidy, grown-up family life.
