INVESTIGATIONS 2016: THE INSIDE STORY: MASTERCLASS IN DOCUMENTARY MAKING

This film screened 14th October 2016.

Journalist and broadcaster, Olivia O’Leary chairs a public interview with award-winning producer/director, Janet Traynor (RTÉ Investigations Unit) whose work has received recognition at home and abroad and has influenced legislative changes here in Ireland. This is a rare opportunity to hear the inside story behind the production of documentaries such as Fatal Failures (telling the story of baby deaths in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise), Freefall (tracing the origins of Ireland’s banking and financial crisis), Home Truths (on ill-treatment at Leas Cross Nursing Home), Sex Traffic (exposing the sex trafficking industry) and Inside Bungalow 3 (showing the poor treatment of people with intellectual disabilities at Aras Attracta). This session will include an audience Q&A.
