CHARACTER CREATION & DEVELOPMENT: DISCUSSION AND MASTERCLASS

(11.30 – 17.30)

To tie in with the release of Sam Raimi’s Oz The Great and the Powerful, and in conjunction with the Irish School of Animation, we have a day of discussion and masterclass, with special guest Troy Saliba (Anastasia, Titan A.E., Oz The Great and the Powerful).

Looking at character design and development in live action, animations, hybrid features and TV shows, a panel discussion comprising representatives from animation, filmmaking and screenwriting will consider characters they have created/designed and/or developed from idea through to realisation. Panellists  will include Jason Tammemagi (Geronimo Productions), Bronagh O’Hanlon (Brown Bag), Nicky Gogan (Still Films), Paul Bolger (Pillarstone Productions), Lindsay Jane Sedgwick (writer of Punky), Ciaran Foy (Citadel) and Gareth Lee (Irish School of Animation).

A panel discussion will be followed by a masterclass with Troy Saliba, Supervising Animator on Oz The Great and the Powerful. Troy will talk about the various characters he has worked with.

The day will finish with a screening of Oz The Great and the Powerful (3D), introduced by Troy Saliba and in conjunction with Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Ireland.

OZ THE GREAT AND THE POWERFUL (3D)
