Irish Film Institute -ADAM & PAUL

ADAM & PAUL

Director: LENNY ABRAHAMSON

The IFI and Stepping Stone present, in partnership with the Homeless Film Festival 2012, a screening of Adam & Paul, the tender tale of a pair of Dublin’s most marginalised sons.

The Homeless Film Festival is a celebration of the positive works that raise awareness of homelessness. The aim of the festival is to establish a strong link between the rapidly growing film industry and homelessness, one of the world’s growing social issues. Homeless people struggle for a voice while film is about representing stories, discourse and culture so bringing the two together provides a platform for homeless people to express themselves.

Stepping Stone is a unique Dublin-based housing charity founded 40 years ago which provides community-based housing to people who are homeless or at risk. Community-based housing is where ‘we’ live and homeless accommodation is where ‘they’ live. Stepping Stone aims to bridge the gap between ‘us’ and ‘them’ and achieves this through the provision of housing together with personalised supports.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Lenny Abrahamson.
