ABBAS KIAROSTAMI: THE ART OF LIVING

Director: PAT COLLINS

52 minutes, Ireland, 2003, Digi-beta

Collins and co-director Fergus Daly join Mr. Kiarostami on an unlikely trip to the Aran Islands and en route the enigmatic artist opens up about his creative process, one that extends far beyond conventional filmmaking to encompass video art, still photography and poetry. Interposed are contributions from a variety of critical heavy-hitters and Kiarostami associates, musing upon his body of work. A fine introduction to one of the giants of cinema and a fascinating glimpse of the master at play.

Tickets for each of the Pat Collins’ Short Works are priced at €5.

This film is screening as part of the IFI’s season, Poetic Truths: The Cinema of Pat Collins (August 4th – 21st).
